 Despite a solid pitching performance by Chris Kordick salem lost a close one 2-1 at Northville. Salem could muster little offence throughout the game. Senior Nick Leventis lead the way with 2 hits.

Game Highlights

 

  The Rocks failed to improve in the nightcap falling 11-1. A shakeup in the lineup only created more defencesive holes, as the Rocks made 4 errors allowing 4 unearned early. Junior Devin Price drove in the only run for Salem. The Rocks drop to 5-7 for the season and 1-4 in the KLAA. Salem will host Milan in a Saturday doubleheader at 11 AM.

  Salem out hit Milan  10-6 but allowed 3 unearned runs to drop the front end of the Saturday double header 6-5. Salem sophmore Matt Constance made his first varsity start and did a solid job going 5 innings and allowed 4 runs, only 1 earned. Korey Streck was the losing pitcher giving up a solo homerun in the top of the 7th.

 

 The Rocks were lead at the plate by senior catcher Nick Leventis going 3 for 3 , with a double and a RBI. Chris Kordick and Devin Price had 2 hits each. Scott Devine and Matt Rowland each had a hit and a RBI. Senior Tate Theisen also had a big hit to tie the game late in a pinch hitting role in the bottom of the 6th. Salem was able to get the tieing run to 3rd in the bottom of the 7th but was unable to score. Salem's record falls to 5-8.

Game Highlights

 

   The Rocks fought back in the second game of the double header to end a 3 game losing streak 5-3. Solid pitching and defence were the difference in this one as 3 Salem pitchers scatered 8 hits and allowed only 1 earned run. Tommy Rodriguez was the starter going 2 innings, Eric Lorber was the pitcher of record, going 4 solid innings to earn his first win of the season. Senior Mike Weingrot earned the save with a solid 7th.

 

 Salem  scored all their runs in 2 innings. In the 3rd Alex King walked,stole second and scored on a single by Devin Price. Price scored on a long double off the center field fence by Chris Kordick. Kordick scored on a single by Tate Theisen to take a 3-1 lead as Theisen continued his hot hitting. In the top of the 5th Milan scored 2 runs to tie the score, but in the bottom of the 5th with 1 out Scott Devine doubled down the left field line, moved over to 3rd on ground ball and with 2 outs and 2 strikes Senior Chris Kordick sent a long 2 run homerun into the woods in right field to put the Rocks ahead for good. Salem improved their record to 6-8 and showed improvement in their overall game. The boys should feel much better today.

 

 On a personnel note it was great to see old PLYMOUTH HIGH grads John Gilles and John Bida and former Salem pitcher Nick England. Thanks for comming out!!!!

Winning Pitcher:  Chris Kordick 2-1  

 

Game Highlights

 

   Salem fought back in the bottom of the 7th to score 2 runs to earn a hard fought victory over Franklin 6-5. Nick Leventis lead off the 7th with a walk. Scott Devine followed with a sac bunt but the Franklin pitcher made a bad throw that allowed the Salem runners to advanve to second and third with no outs. Devin Price was put on to load the bases and Chris Kordick followed with a single to tie the game at 5. Then Tate Theisen came through again with a run scoring single to win the game for the Rocks.

  Starting pitcher Chris Kordick settled down after a shakey first inning and  went the distance for his second win of the season. Kordick allowed 3 earned runs, striking out 5 and walked only 1.

  The Rocks banged out 10 hits tonight lead by Nick Leventis and Scott Devine with 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Kordick and Theisen drove in 2 runs each and Devin Price and Matt Rowland  drove in runs as well. Centerfielder Brad Trublowski chipped in with a tripled a scored a run.

 

 Salem improved their record to 7-8 and 2-4 in the KLAA, and will travel to Stevenson for a twinbill on the 28th.

 The old Rocks keep comming out, tonight former Rocks Billy Horgan and Scott Holka from the 2005 District Champs stoped by to say hello.

  Salem was unable to get much going tonight losing the front end of the doubleheader  at Stevenson 10-2, Korey Streck took the loss allowing 9 hits and 9 earned runs. The Rocks could only muster 5 hits in the loss.

 Matt Constance gave Salem a solid start, but the Rocks were not able to take advantage of their  chances to score  and dropped the night cap 8-2. The Rocks were lead at the plate by Chris Kordick with 2 singles and a double. Salem's record falls to 7-10 and 2-6 in the KLAA.

Game Highlights

 

  Salem got off on the right foot, starting the second half of the season with a 4-3 extra inning victory over Churchill. Starting pitcher Matt Constance was outstanding  for the Rocks going a full 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, with 7 strikouts. Only 1 run was earned. This was the first varsity win for Constance.

  The Rocks took the lead in the top of the 8th when Left fielder Devin Price lead off with a single. Price stole second and once again Senior first baseman Chris Kordick came through with a  doubled to drive in Price. Then senior DH Tate Theisen drove in Kordick to give Salem all the runs they would need.

 

It got a little scary in the bottom of the 8th, the never give up Chargers rallyed for 1 run on 2 hits off Korey Streck, But Mike Weingrot , in relief of Streck got the final Churchill hitter to fly out to end the game and earn a save. The Rocks were lead at the plate by Kordick with a 3 for 3, 2 runs and a RBI. Tate Theisen had 2 hits and 2 RBI's and Junior thrid basemen Tommy Rodriguez drove in the other run with a solid Single.

 

The Rocks improved their record to 8-10 and 3-6 in the KLAA, and will travel to South Lyon on the 5th for a double header.    GOOD JOB MEN!!!! GO ROCKS!!!

  Salem ace Chris Kordick was'nt sharp tonight allowing 8 runs all unearned on the way to a 12-3 loss.Salem was lead at the plate by Devin Price with a  3 for 4 and a RBI. Second baseman Scott Devine chipped in with a 2 for 4 and 2 runs scored.

Game Highlights

 

 The Rocks came to life in the night cap, playing a solid game and handing the Lions a 7-2 loss. Starting pitcher Korey Streck was out standing going 5 and 2/3, 5 strikouts and no walks, before handing the final inning and 1/3 over to Mike Weingrot. Weingrot struck out 3 of the final 4 batters he faced.

 The Rocks scored all their runs in 2 innings and that would prove to be enuf. In the first Alex King lead off with a double. Joe Simowski put down a sac bunt moving King to third. King scored on a RBI single by Devin Price. Kordick reached on a infield hit and with 2 outs sophmore catcher Brett Ramirez lined a double into right center driving in Price and Kordick to give Salem the lead. In the 4th  Kordick walked, Tate thiesen singled and Ramires Lined a double down the left line scoring Kordick and Theisen. Matt Constance followed with a walk, Ramirez and Constance moved up on a wild pitch and Second baseman Tommy ( the Jet) Rodriguez lined a single to right driving in Ramirez and Constance to give the Rocks all the runs they would need. Alex King was 3 for 3 and a run scored and Brett Ramirez was 2 for 3 and 3 RBI's.

 

 Salem 's record improves to 9-11 and 4-7 in the KLAA. The Rocks will Play a double header for prostate cancer with Plymouth on Saturday starting at 11am.

Game Highlights

  Sophmore pitcher Matt Constance was in total control of the game tonight  shutting out John Glenn 7-0. Constance went 7 complete innings allowed 3 hits, no walks and struck out 13. This was the first shutout for Constance at Salem. Only one baserunner got as far as second base and at one point Constance retired 10 batters in a row.. It was a  zero zero pitchers dule until the bottom of the 4th, with 2 outs Salem broke the ice when senior first basemen Tate Theisen came thru again with a long solo homerun to give the Rocks the lead. Salem scored 2 more runs in the 4th when Scott Devine followed Theisen's homerun with a ringing single to left, followed by another single by Brett Rameriez. A walk to Ken Novak loaded the bases and center fielder Brad Trublowski lined a big 2 out double up the gap in rightcenter  for 2 RBI's. In the 5th Devin Price drove in Nick Leventis with a single after Leventis had doubled, and in the 6th Novak drove in a run on a fielders choice and Alex king drove in the final run with a single to end the scoring. Salem was lead at the plate by Nick Leventis with 3 for 4 , and Brett Ramirez and Brad Trublowski had 2 hits each.The Rocks improve their record to 10-11 and 5-7 in the KLAA. Salem will host Novi in a double header on the 12th.

Salem droped the nightcap to Novi in 5 innings 11-0. Salem's record falls to 10-13 and 5-9 in the KLAA.   The Rocks will travel to Adrian for a twinight doubleheader at Adrian on friday starting at 5pm.

 Theres not much good to be said about Salem's 20-11 loss at Wayne. Poor pitching(9 walks) and poor defence ( 8 errors) lead to 18 unearned runs. Salem's record falls to 14-15 and 6-11 in the KLAA. The Rocks will host Redford Union and Belleville on Saturday. First game 11AM.

  Korey Streck went 5 and 1/3 to earn his 4th win of the season and Mike Weingrot pitched the final 1 and 2/3 to close out the game. The Rocks scored 4 runs in the 3rd. Erick Lorber lead off the inning with a double. Weingrot beat out a bunt and Matt  Rowland followed with a walk. to load the bases. Infield grounders by Alex King and Scott Devine scored Lorber and Weingrot. Devin Price lined a single to right center to drive in Rowland. Chris Kordick lined a double down the right field line to drive in Price.  The 5th would give the Rocks all the runs they would need, scoring 7 runs on singles by Scott Devine,Joe Simowski, and doubles by Alex King and Ken Novak. Salem evens their record at 15-15 on the season and will travel to Hartland tomarrow for a KLAA association crossover.

 Salem allowed 2 unearned runs in the first on a walk, a error, a balk, a sac fly and a pass ball and one run in the 3rd and that was enuf as Hartland beat the Rocks 3-2. Salem out hit the Eagles 7-4, but couldn't get a big hit when they needed one, leaving 7 runners in scoring position. The Rocks were lead at the plate by sophmore catcher Brett Ramirez going 2 for 2  with a single and a double, and junior second baseman Scott Devine with 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a RBI. Senior Joe Simowski drove in the other run beating out a perfect squeez bunt  in the 6th. Salem will try to improve their record 15-16, at the Eagle Invitational at EMU this Saturday in a 4 team tourniment. Ypsilanti Lincoln will play Wayne at noon, Salem Plays North Farmington at 2:30.  Salem scored early and often on their way to a 16-5 victory in their opening game of the 9th annual EMU- Eagle Invitational. The Rocks scored 3 in the first and 7 in the second to put the game out of reach early. Brett Ramirez, Scott Devine and Devin Price had 3 hits and 3 runs scored each to lead the way. Price had the first 5 RBI day of his career, and Chris Kordick and Brett Ramirez had 2 RBI's each. Starting pitcher Korey Streck took advantage of the run support and earned his 5th win of the season. The Rocks overall recored  improves to 16-16.

 The out come in the Championship game of The Eagle Invitational was a different one as a determind Ypsi- Lincoln team, who had defeated Wayne in their opening game took it from the Rocks in the first inning scoring 7 runs. The Rocks fought back to get the score to 7-4, but couldn't muster any more runs dropping the game 12-4. Scott Devine lead the way for the Rocks with 3 hits, making it 6 hits on the day.Chris Kordick was the only other Rock with, at least 2 hits collecting a single and a double and a RBI. Salem's record falls to 16-17 with one more regular season game on tuesday. Salem will host Southgate Anderson at 4pm.

 The Rocks closed out their regular season by losing to Southgate Anderson 3-0. Salem starting pitcher Scott Theisen did a solid job allowing 3 runs on 3 hits in 5 and 2/3 innings. Only 1 run was earned. The Rocks were lead at the plate by Scott Devine with 2 hits. The Rocks left 6 runners in scoring position but could not get a big hit when it was needed. The Rocks will face Stevenson on Saturday in the district at Canton at 12pm. Salem's recored falls to 16-18

 Salem closed out the 2010 season by dropping their district game with Stevenson 11-6. Salem made 5 errors that allowed  5 unearned runs and it was to much to overcome. Senior Pitcher Chris Kordick picked up the loss in his final start for the Rocks. The Rocks were lead at the plate by Devin Price 3-4, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, and Scott Devine with a 2-3 , a single and a double, and senior Tate Theisen with a 2 for 3 day. Lets give Salem a lot of credit as they fought hard all day scoring in two of the final 3 innings. They never gave up! This group of seniors are all outstanding young men and are winners in every sence of the word. I'am proud of you all!!!
